Etch Marking Service
Sampling Technologies provides a metal etching service for high quality logos, marking of simple text messages, part and asset numbers, dates, serial numbers, barcodes and other required information, directly onto the product - whether the surface is round or flat.
Sampling Technologies employs electrolytic etchers to mark alloys. Electrolytic etchers are perfect for permanent marking of various conductive metals. Our etching systems use a unique electro marking technique, without the need for corrosive acids.
Various Stencil options available
Various types of metal marking stencils are available to suit any type of information you wish to etch onto your plant, parts, dispensary equipment or any other equipment.
- Plain text messages
- High resolution logos
- Serial numbering stencils
- Pre-printed part numbers
- Customised combination stencils
- Barcodes
The etching technique
Metal etching works by passing a controlled low-voltage electric current through a pre-printed stencil. The current is transferred through the gaps in the stencil using a harmless electrolyte fluid and etches away a thin layer of the surface material leaving a dark contrasting finish on the metal. Etching is iron oxide. It is a stable form of iron oxide that is incorporated in the crystal structure of the alloy. Sampling Technologies supplies material safety data sheets for the electrolyte fluids used.
Use only approved etching as per ASNZ4187
High quality etching
Sampling Technologies produce high quality, black markings at a depth of only a few microns, leaving no cavities offering no chance of micro organisms being harboured. It is a GMP correct method. The strength of often delicate instruments is not compromised by using the etching method.
Pharmaceutical & Surgical Instrument Marking
Etching is fast and neat. Whether it is for pharmaceutical, surgical plant and instruments or other industry equipment, Sampling Technologies can easily be used for safely marking pharmaceutical and medical grade equipment. This asset identification technique meets the requirements of ASNZ4187 and is also GMP correct.
